Where We Go

Serving Richmond, Columbia & Aiken Counties

Collection and delivery are included on both sides of the river: Olde Town and the Hill, out through Martinez, Evans and Grovetown, and across into North Augusta, Aiken and the horse country behind it. If you are not on the list below, say so anyway — the van crosses the bridge most days.

Collection routes

Augusta and Aiken sit in the valley of the Savannah River, and three things in that landscape decide how a rug fails here rather than somewhere else. There is the river plain itself, laid down in a silt so fine it never announces itself. There is the sand ridge behind it, where the oldest houses in the city were built to catch a breeze and still do exactly that. And there is the horse country over on the South Carolina side, where the material arriving on a boot was engineered to be sharp. A house on the Hill from the 1850s, a new slab in Grovetown and a barn-adjacent cottage in Aiken have almost nothing in common but the weather. These are the areas we collect from most, and what tends to be waiting when we get there.

Summerville

These houses were built to survive a summer without air conditioning, and they still behave that way.

Olde Town

The ground on this side of the levee is neither sand nor clay.

Rug cleaning in Olde Town

Forest Hills

The enclosed porch is where the damage is, and it is condensation damage rather than wear.

Rug cleaning in Forest Hills

National Hills

The floor is the problem here, and it is invisible because it is underneath everything.

Rug cleaning in National Hills

West Lake

The most common damage we see here is done by an appliance everybody believes is helping.

Rug cleaning in West Lake

Martinez

A surprising share of the hand-knotted rugs on this side of the county did not come from a showroom.

Rug cleaning in Martinez

Evans

A new house here is a tight house, and that changes which failure turns up.

Rug cleaning in Evans

Grovetown

Nobody in a new subdivision uses the front door.

Rug cleaning in Grovetown

North Augusta

There is a mark specific to houses that burn things indoors, and almost everybody reads it wrong.

Rug cleaning in North Augusta

Hammond's Ferry

The rugs here are often older and better than the houses they are in, and the trouble starts with arithmetic.

Rug cleaning in Hammond's Ferry

Aiken

Barn soil is not house dirt with more of it, it is a different material entirely, and this is the one thing about Aiken that no other market on our route has to deal with.

Woodside

Almost every rug problem in this community starts with the thing that was bought to solve one.
